About Us

Crush Tidal Waves Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop competitive female student-athletes and promote lifelong qualities of sportsmanship, teamwork, commitment, leadership, respect, and integrity.

The Crush Tidal Waves Girl's Fastpitch Organization is a premier girls fastpitch organization in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. We are proud to have 11 teams and athletes ranging in age from 10 to 18.

The Crush Tidal Waves organization offers a 12-month training program which includes indoor and outdoor practice facilities. Each team plays 60-75 games per season.

Originally founded in 1990 as the Crystal Lake Tidal Waves, the organization would later merge in 2014 with the Cary Crush to become what is known today as The Crush Tidal Waves Fastpitch Organization.  Our teams compete in some of the highest level tournaments each year across a multitude of organizations (PGF, USSSA, NAFA and ASA).  Many Crush Tidal Wave high school players earn "All Conference" status and go on to play at the collegiate level.

For more information on our program - please review the various pages on our site or if you are interested in joining the premier fast pitch organization in the Northwest suburbs, please contact the coach of your age level.

Player Development

As an organization, the Crush Tidal Waves strive to encourage each and every player to meet their full potential and be all they can be. Tidal Wave players are encouraged to be great students as well as great softball players.

For players, who aspire to continue their success in their academics as well as softball  please review the information under College Recruiting to help guide you in the pursuit of these goals.

Great Athletes are Great Students!

Expectations

Crush Tidal Waves Girls Fastpitch Softball’s primary purpose is to provide a complete softball program for girls that want to play at a higher competitive level.  The Crush Tidal Waves successfully compete with top teams at the state and national levels.  A comprehensive program is provided for girls in U10, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, and U18 age levels.  Girls have the opportunity to improve their softball skills with fall games/tournaments, year round indoor training at one of our two private indoor facilities  and spring/summer practice and game schedules.  The Crush Tidal Waves have an excellent reputation that we are proud of and work hard to maintain.

If you are chosen and decide to play for the Tidal Waves you are expected to:

1.         Display proper conduct as a player and parent.

¨       A “Code of Conduct” must be signed.

2.         As a player, attend all practices, games and tournaments.  Be supportive of your teammates and work hard to improve your skills.  If you must miss any team function, contact your coach.

¨       You will play approximately 60 – 80 games.  This includes approximately 10 tournaments / round robins, and practice games.

¨       Practice outside in the fall (Sept / Oct), indoor Jan – March, and outside from  April thru July.  We do have two private indoor facilities that teams can utilize during inclement weather.  High School players cannot participate with the Crush Tidal Waves during the High School season which runs from March through early June.

¨       Although the majority of tournaments will be scheduled in the Chicagoland area, there may be some out of town tournaments.  Each age group schedules will vary so please refer to your coach regarding tournament and travel plans.

¨       Participate in a National Tournament if your team qualifies.

3.         As a parent, be involved in the organization as a committee member or volunteer as deemed necessary.  Be a “POSITIVE CRUSH TIDAL WAVES AMBASSADOR”.  Each family will be required to participate in an organizational committee.  For example, Fields, Uniforms, Sponsorships, Pictures, etc.

4.        Obtaining sponsors help keep registration fees low and we highly encourage you to obtain sponsors.  Our organization is unique in that 100% of all sponsorships you secure get created to your account to offset your player fees.  We also offer various fundraising opportunities at both the organizational and team level to help offset player fees.  For specific details of opportunities to offset fees, please reach out to your age specific coach.  It is important to note that many families are able to raise enough money through sponsorships and fundraising to eliminate all or a majority of the player fees.

5.      Participation in fundraising actvities to help out others in the community and also events for the benefit of the organization. Families will be required to participate in both of these events. Teams can also organize and conduct team fundraisers that can be used directly for the team (team hitting lessons, offset national expenses, additional indoor practices or tournaments outside of budgeted allocation).
